MILLS AVENUE (US 17/92) IMPROVEMENTS

Project Scope:
The Mills Avenue Improvement project is a roadway
improvement project between Virginia Drive and Dorchester Street and also
includes the intersections at Marks Street and Lake Highland Drive. Construction
began on January 4, 2010 and as of March 3, 2010, approximately 25% of the
construction has been completed.

Project Cost
The Mills Improvement project is a federally funded
local agency program project with a construction cost of approximately $3.3
million.
Potential Noise and Traffic Impacts:

Pile driving for the new pedestrian bridge over
Lake Estelle is scheduled to start 3/16/10 between the hours of 7AM and 6PM, in
accordance with City Code. Anticipate increased noise for a period of 3 to 4
days.

Intersection improvements at Lake Highland and
Marks street intersections are scheduled to begin 3/9/10 through 3/26/10. This
will be a nighttime operation between the hours of 8:30 PM and 6:30AM, Sunday to
Thursday night. Anticipate increased noise and lane closures/detours.

Traffic lanes on Mills Avenue between Virginia
and Rollins/Lake Shore will be shifted to the west in mid March. Anticipate
night time lane closures for 1 to 2 nights.

New signal foundations will be constructed at
Nebraska, Princeton and Virginia. Three of the four foundations at Virginia will
be constructed during night time operations between the hours of 8:30PM and
6:30AM. All other foundations are scheduled to be constructed during day time
hours. Anticipate increased noise during the construction and possible lane
closures/detours.
