Neptune Road Widening Phase I
This $23,086,841.06 dollar contract is for reconstruction of 2.38 miles of
Neptune Rd. between Westchester Dr. and Partin Settlement Rd. (including the
Partin Settlement intersection); Landscaping, Signalization, Relocating the
existing pedestrian bridges. Also incidental work including milling and
resurfacing, drainage and safety improvements, fencing, detention ponds,
grassing, signing and improved pavement markings.
The construction Notice to Proceed was issued on
December 4, 2006. The construction duration is 750 consecutive calendar
days for substantial completion with an additional 60 days for Final Completion.
Jr. Davis Construction is the general Contractor.
The utilities work will be performed immediately and over the
next few months. Involving the investigation and relocation of several
different needed services (power, water, fiber optics, phone,
telecommunications, and cable services) provided by a host of different
companies this project is unique in that each concerned party gathered in a
pre-construction conference to discuss ideas that would reduce total cost and
time by having varying work practices executed simultaneously. This is a
concept that has wide support but has never been implemented due to the massive
scheduling conflicts involved with adjusting utilities.
Neptune Road
represents the chance for
Osceola
County
to establish itself as an innovator within the Construction industry and set a
standard for cost savings through streamlined planning and execution.
